Do you remember when banking was conducted in the branch from 9-4 Monday through to Friday? Well not anymore!
We now live in a world where Multiple Access Devices (MAD) are pervasive -- 1 in 2 of us now has a smartphone or tablet, or both -- and this is changing the way we consume products and services. Essentially, we want to be able to do things anytime, anywhere and across any channel -- banking included. And we want the experience to be rich and interactive.
Banks face a significant challenge meeting customer expectations.
Nonetheless, banks are struggling to offer customers the user experience they expect. The IT infrastructure at banks was put in place a long time ago -- in fact, in most cases, long before the internet. It was never designed for, and is struggling to cope with, a "MAD" world. The only way for banks to get ahead in a "MAD" world is to take an entirely new approach. We are undergoing a generational shift in technology and consumer behaviour and banks need a next-generation answer.
